Third/Fourth GUEST Fares

Some staterooms have accommodation for a third or fourth person. Please refer to the fare table at the bottom of your chosen voyage itinerary page. Although Queen Victoria's Queens and Princess suites can accommodate a third berth, these are capacity controlled by the number of covers available in the restaurants. Please call reservations for availability. Please note that early booking savings do not apply to 3rd & 4th guests.

Child Fares
  • Cunard cannot accept any child under the age of 1 as a guest.
  • Children aged between 1 and 2 accommodated as a 3rd or 4th guest in a stateroom travel free on board. However, if travelling as a 1st or 2nd guest in a stateroom they pay the applicable adult per person fare.
  • A nominal fee may be charged for children between the ages of 1 and 2 travelling where transfers, hotel stays and air travel are involved, which we will discuss with you at the time of booking.
  • Children of 2 years or older pay the applicable adult per person fare .
Sailaway Savings

Our ‘Sailaway’ savings – early booking fares – offer savings
of between 5% and 50% at every grade on every voyage, subject to availability. The maximum ‘Sailaway’ saving available is shown in the fare grid for each voyage and we have set aside a number of staterooms with the maximum ‘Sailaway’ saving on every voyage. Once these staterooms have been sold, the fare charged will revert to either a higher fare or to the full tariff fare. Since these ‘Sailaway’ savings can be withdrawn or changed at any time and since fares may rise, it really does pay to book early. Please note that the ‘Sailaway' savings apply to the voyage holidays as detailed on the voyage pages. They do not apply to supplements for scheduled flight upgrades, hotel accommodation or 3/4th guest fares. Regular promotions and savings from both ourselves and travel agents mean that savings on the tariff fares are available from time to time. However that will depend on when the booking is made and the popularity of the dates and itinerary of a particular voyage/holiday and other factors. Note: all fares are correct at the time of going to print. For current fares and charges please visit www.cunard.co.uk, call 0845 071 0300 or contact your travel agent.

Guarantee Staterooms

When you or your travel agent come to make a reservation you may be offered the guarantee of the stateroom grade, rather than a specific stateroom number. This is because we know from experience that a small number of guests will be compelled to cancel their arrangements, thus leaving the accommodation vacant. Accepting a guarantee means that you have a firm booking and can go ahead with your holiday plans in the same way as if you had accepted a specific stateroom number from the outset. When we allocate a stateroom number you can rest assured you will be given a stateroom of the type you have booked, or in some instances, of a higher rate, though it may be situated on a different deck to that shown on the deck plan for the grade guaranteed. The fare you have been quoted will, however, remain unchanged.

Hotel and Dining Charges

During your voyage, you will experience excellent service from many members of our crew in a variety of locations. In addition, many more crew behind the scenes support those who serve you directly. For your convenience, a Hotel and Dining charge will be automatically added to your shipboard account on a daily basis.

Bar, Wine and Salon Services

A 15% charge is automatically added to your on-board account. This is shared amongst the beverage staff and their support staff, including cleaners and utility staff. Naturally, you are free to tip any member of the crew over and above these amounts, at your discretion.

Transfer Service

Your fare includes transfers between airports, hotels (if applicable) and ship at the overseas port of embarkation/disembarkation. However, please note that Queen Mary 2 one way transatlantic fares do not include transfers in Southampton, New York or Fort Lauderdale.
Pre-voyage hotel

Cunard will fly you to join your voyage on the day of embarkation. However where the included flight timings necessitate a pre-voyage overnight stay, Cunard has included in your voyage fare a deluxe hotel room at the international port of embarkation, for the night prior to your voyage. (Please note this programme does not apply to one way transatlantic fares to and from New York or Fort Lauderdale).

Hotels

Hotel space may be limited during certain major events or holidays and therefore it is recommended that you book early. Rates are subject to change and do not include early check-in. To guarantee this, it is advisable to purchase an additional night prior to arrival. Cunard reserves the right to substitute or add hotels of similar quality when necessary. Hotel options carry the same cancellation terms as a voyage, details of which can be found in the Package Contract.

Voyage-only allowance

Guests who wish to book their air and land arrangements independently should contact our Reservations Department on 0845 071 0013 to request a voyage-only allowance.

International Flight Arrangements

Where embarkation/disembarkation is at an overseas port, Cunard has included flights to and from London in your fare. Where the sailing time permits and subject to availability, your flights will be arranged for the day of embarkation/disembarkation. Please note that flights back to the UK from the Americas are normally overnight. Should you wish to extend your stay, our Air Department will endeavour to accommodate your personal flight preferences (subject to availability, an extra charge may apply). Transfers and overnight stays at the overseas port of embarkation/ disembarkation will not be included in this case. Please note that if amendments are made after tickets have been issued, a £100 per person administrative fee will be charged plus any charges levied by the airline.

All Flights - Please note:

a) Airlines reserve the right to refuse travel on medical grounds. You must notify us of any medical conditions or other requirements for airport assistance (only available after check-in) or special arrangements on your flight. You may be required to provide additional information to the airline in order that they can assess your fitness to fly. Please note that several airlines are unable to carry guests who require oxygen during part or all of the flight. Advance arrangements can be made at an additional cost.

b) If you have any dietary requirements including meal requests, please advise us at the time of booking or at least seven days prior to travel. We are unable to guarantee that all requests can be met.

c) Only fully fit and able-bodied guests may occupy exit row seats. These seats may therefore only ever be assigned at the discretion of the airline at check-in.

d) Due to the configuration of the aircraft, it may not be possible to obtain seats together.

e) All flights are non-smoking.

f) Air carriers and flight routings are subject to change and will not necessarily be direct or non-stop.

g) Cunard will determine the city airport i.e for London, either Heathrow or Gatwick may be used. Where a choice of UK departure points is offered, this is subject to availability.

h) Please note that transfers from airport to hotel and ship are not included in the fare if guests choose to fly to the port of embarkation days prior to embarkation or stay after disembarkation.
Non-Smoking Flights and Airports

It is becoming increasingly common for airlines and even some airports to operate a completely non-smoking policy.

Check-in

Please check your ticket details carefully as check-in timings vary by airline and destination.

Baggage Allowances

There is no restriction for reasonable amounts of luggage on board the ship. However, airlines do have baggage restrictions (which vary on scheduled flights, depending on airline and route). Please note, that on UK regional flights the baggage allowance may be less than on international flights.

Excess Baggage

Airlines are increasingly enforcing stricter control over excess baggage. You should be aware that if you exceed the baggage allowance stated on your ticket, an excess baggage charge may be made by the airline at the time of check-in. As electrical appliances are no longer permitted in checked baggage, please remember to place all such items in your hand luggage.

Non-USA Flights

The standard Economy Class allowance is currently 20 kilos of checked baggage per person, British Airways Economy allowance is currently 23 kilos per person. Business Class is 30 kilos each per person and First Class is 40 kilos per person.  Guests travelling in Business or First Class with British Airways are permitted to take 3 pieces of checked baggage, up to a maximum of 23 kilos per piece.  Please check your ticket prior to departure.

USA Flights

Most airlines are changing the allowance to one piece of 23k for tickets issued from October 2009 so please refer to the airlines website for specific details.

Guests travelling in Business or First Class with British Airways are permitted to take 3 pieces of checked baggage, up to a maximum of 23 kilos per piece. All guests (excluding infants) are allowed to bring a single piece of cabin luggage on board with them, which must not weigh more than 6 kilos.  Please check your ticket prior to departure.

Carriage of Animals

We are able to transport your dog or cat on selected Transatlantic Crossings between Southampton and New York on Queen Mary 2 only.  Pets are carried in accordance with International Animal transportation regulations and Cunard Line requirements.  Kennels are allocated to pets subject to them meeting all health requirements and the availability of the correct sized kennels.  For information on how to take your dog or cat on Queen Mary 2 please contact our Reservations Centre on 0845 071 0300.
Cash Declaration

Please note that, as part of the fight against terrorism, international crime and money laundering, EU Regulation (EC) No 1889/2005 requires all passengers entering or leaving the European Union with €10,000 or more in cash (or its equivalent in other currencies or easily convertible assets - e.g. bonds, shares, traveller's cheques etc.) to declare the sum to the customs authorities of the Member State which he/she is entering or leaving.
